Crystal - Owner and Former Stylist of 10 years
As a stylist of 10 years I’ve retired from cutting hair to give all my time and energy into my team and customer experience.
To be a stylist you have to be a little slice of crazy and a whole lot of creative. It’s not everyday in most industries that you have no idea what the day will holds but most of all you get to have a personal relationship with each person in your chair. How cool is that?! I started cosmetology 10 years ago with no idea the passion I would carry for this industry. Also I never imagined have a team full of talented and hardworking women. It’s still strange to have my team call me “their boss”. I don’t walk around singing Kelis’
Bossy but I would call myself a leader! Creating a salon team proved to be way harder than I ever thought but I can say I have the best team ever. Once you step foot in our salon you will be surprised to see only 8 stylists but I’ve always wanted a smaller group.
It’s more of a family with and we are able to really bond with each other. So far, so good. I started this salon to give stylists an opportunity to make a career for themselves and we have met our goals.
As for my personal life what makes my heart beat is my family. We are a wild and crazy family of 6. No, I didn’t birth all of them just 2. I have 2 beautiful redheaded daughters, one statuesque and creative step daughter and a highly motivated sportaholic step son. We are pretty busy as a family which is one of the reasons I retired from cutting. After 4 years of pure hard work on both ends as a stylist and a business owner it was time to focus on my family and my salon kids. I’m married to one incredible husband who has supported and helped create Indie Blue. Saying I’m lucky to have this family to call my own is an understatement.
So what’s our plan for our future at Indie Blue? I personally am focusing on making each guests experience the best it can be. Our goal as a salon is to create healthy and happy hair that you love. We hope to see you soon!
